Joining Adirondack Mama’s Sewing Bee again this week—

On my sewing table…

…beanbags…

…beanbags…

…and more beanbags!

I’ve been—very slowly—sorting through my fabric stash & trying to match fabrics I have in my cases with projects I have in my head.

I found these four and thought they might be perfect for beanbags for the kids, which I’ve been wanting to make for months now but haven’t made the time. The two small-ish pieces of wool coordinate really well & I think must have come from the same source; the other two—a heavy woven stripey-plaidy fabric and a burgundy corduroy—coordinate more coincidentally, I think, but they go pretty well nonetheless.

I’m not doing anything like a tutorial here—I mean, they’re beanbags. It’s not rocket science.

You cut squares of fabric…

{I wanted four-inch beanbags, so I cut my squares five-by-five inches}

…sew them together…

…fill them with beans…

{waiting to be filled up by my little helper}

{this way was very, very slow}

{this went much more quickly}

…sew up the hole you left for the bean-filling…

{all pinned and ready to be sewn up}

…and then do beanbaggy-type things like toss them and balance them on your head.

Julia was very excited to be able to help—and more than a little torqued that I wouldn’t let her work the sewing machine—especially the red and blue and green ones, which are a present for Asher’s Easter basket. And when all was said & done she gave them a big thumbs-up, which is an impressive and much sought-after seal of approval around here.

      Thanks for stopping by, Laura! I found your blog through your sister’s as well & have been reading along for a bit—you do some really neat things over there. LOVE last week’s baby legs (I don’t think I ever got around to commenting on them, lol)—I am going to be trying those myself. 🙂

    So cute! I need to make some of these with the fabric stash that is begging for some attention!
